Congratulations to the LJMS Battle of the Books team for bringing home the 5th annual Cross-County Championship. Our nine seventh graders, meeting and working since October to read and study a list of contemporary fiction and nonfiction books, bested teams from thirteen other FCPS middle schools in a feverish quiz bowl competition at Lake Braddock Secondary School.

The event was well attended by spectators and families and sportsmanlike energy was high throughout the evening. Warm thanks to all of the competitors and coaches who made the event such a glowing success, particularly event coordinator and former LJMS librarian Megan McKnight.
