Summer Programs

It's going to be a busy summer at LJMS, including Tech Adventure Camp, TJ Prep Camp, and How to Survive Middle School. Take a look at the attached flyer to see calendars, costs, and registration information.

Summer Assignments for LJMS rising 7th and 8th graders

All LJ students in grades 7 and 8 are required to read at least one book over the summer. There will be an assignment related to this reading requirement during the first week of school in the fall.

FCPS has prepared an interactive summer reading list for middle schoolers with cover images and links to descriptions and, for many books, helpful book discussion videos. Please take a moment to explore.

Here at LJ, anyone who reads at least 10 books over the summer and fills out our optional Passport to Summer Reading will be invited to a Library ice cream party in September. We'll also be posting the completed passports on a bulletin board in the Library, so make sure you include a picture of yourself.Students, listen to the announcements for details. If you lose your Passport or need another one, it may be downloaded and printed from here.
