End of Year SMARTR Outcome

In Spring 2016, the percentage of students who pass the Virginia Reading SOL assessment will increase to 90%.

Strategy 1

Provide professional development and ongoing support to strengthen Tier I instruction and develop a common language about elements of effective lessons, including LEARN lesson format, learning targets, and frequent reading and writing opportunities.

Strategy 2

Support collaborative teams in increasing content‐related reading, writing, and discourse experiences in all classrooms across the school.

Strategy 3

Improve reading instruction and progress monitoring for students reading below grade level.

Strategy 1

Provide professional development and ongoing support that develops a common language about elements of effective lessons, including LEARN lesson format, learning targets, and frequent reading and writing opportunities.

Strategy 2

Provide professional development and ongoing support that develops mathematical literacy strategies, including academic vocabulary and “think alouds.”

Strategy 3

Utilize Tier 2 intervention (PAWS) effectively for struggling math students, including Special Education students.
